NLC protest to commence 7:30am in Minna,Niger State Capital
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Niger state Council has said that there is no going back on the nation wide protest against recent fuel pump price increase.
The State Chairman Comrade Edress Abdulkareem in an interview with Nigeria Daily Post correspondent in his Office stated that NEC in session has re affirms the decisions of central working committee of the 25th of July 2023.
He said that Niger state Council has no option than to adhere strictly to the directives of the National body that all affiliate and State councils including the civil society to come out on Wednesday across the nation to protest government’s insensitivity to the plight of the Nigeria’s.
Comrade Edress insisted that the unseriousness of the Federal Government towards the creation of frameworks to cushion the impact of it’s hike in the price of premium motor Spirit [PMS] was demonstrated not only the quality of it’s representation at yesterday’s meeting also shows that they are not willing to deal with the issues as canvassed.
He further stated that all affiliate unions and the entire workers are expected to converge at NLC State secretariat at 7.30 am when they will now move to the State House of Assembly and subsequently to Government House in protest,he added.
