NKADA Warns Riverine Communities on Impending 2023 Flooding
National Kakanda Development Association NKADA have advised riverine communities in Lapai local government of Niger state to be alert of the impending flood as predicted by the NiMet.
The President of the association, Alhaji Ismaila Abdullahi gave the advise during its executive meeting held at his residence in Shango, Minna.
He noted that the NiMet and other relevant authorities like NEMA, NIWA and Governments has predicted and commenced enlightenment of the public on this year anticipated flooding and its consequences.
This is contained in a statement issued by the NKADA Assistant Secretary, Alhaji Yakubu Mustapha Bina, said that over thirty three communities were been affected by flood annually in the area.
Alhaji Ismaila Abdullahi however urged those in the affected areas to start moving to the up land so as to avoid the negative impact occasioned by the annual flooding in the local government.
He explained that the association has involved in various interventions, settled communal disputes and embarked on community visitations and enlightenment on different government programmes to ensure the development of the area.
