Governor Umaru Bago Opens Digital, ICT Center at Martin Sanda Girls Science College, Paiko.
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has inaugurated a digital learning and ICT center at Martin Sanda Girls Science College, Paiko, facilitated by Justice Zaynab Bashir of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.
Governor Umaru Bago, who praised the project initiated by Justice Zaynab, an indigene of Paiko, called it highly commendable.
He stated she has undertaken a corporate social responsibility that is challenging for many, especially in girl-child education.
The governor noted that the initiative serves as a wake-up call for others to contribute to the development of the state and the nation, emphasizing the need for more actions to promote girl-child education.
Governor Umaru Bago also inspected the newly renovated classroom blocks, which Justice Zaynab Bashir facilitated.
He directed that the school be fenced and disclosed that his government will build a science laboratory and a sports complex. His administration remains committed to advancing science education across the state.
Governor Bago called on the people of Paiko to encourage their children to pursue medicine and other health-related courses, so that the government can establish a General Hospital where residents can be employed to provide healthcare.
He further stated that the Ward Development Project of his administration is ongoing and that a new commissioner for rural development will be appointed soon to oversee the disbursement of funds for projects across all 25 local government areas.
Justice Zaynab Bashir, the project facilitator, expressed that the former governor’s dedication to excellence led to approval of the project she initiated, highlighting that his administration has consistently shown that with proper support, individuals and organizations are inspired to make meaningful societal contributions.
She described the former governor as a mentor. She appreciated his support, stating that the project reflects his administration’s vision and was conceived with the belief that education is one of the most vital tools for transforming lives.
In their remarks, the former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Zubairu Dada; Chairman of Paikoro Local Government Council; Aminu Umar Yandai; member representing Paikoro Constituency at the State House of Assembly; and Umar Nasir all commended the former governor for his significant efforts in transforming Paikoro Local Government.
They also praised Justice Zaynab for her noble idea of giving back to society, urging others to follow her example.
