IHRC-RFT Condemns Killing of Ja’afaru Abdullahi, Demands Justice

The International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) Relief Fund Trust, Niger State Chapter, has condemned the brutal killing of Ja’afaru Dabawu Abdullahi by unknown assailants in Maitumbi area of Minna, Niger State.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the organisation described the incident as barbaric, senseless and a clear violation of the sanctity of human life.
The Commission expressed shock and sadness over the killing, noting that the growing wave of violent crimes and unresolved murder cases across the country had become alarming and unacceptable.
According to the statement, the IHRC Relief Fund Trust called on relevant security agencies to launch a thorough investigation into the incident with a view to identifying, arresting and prosecuting those responsible for the crime.
“The increasing wave of violent crimes and unresolved killings in society has become deeply alarming and unacceptable,” the organisation stated.
The Commission warned against a situation where criminal elements operate freely while innocent citizens continue to live in fear and uncertainty, stressing that failure to bring perpetrators to justice could further undermine public confidence in the nation’s security and justice system.
The organisation also renewed its call on security agencies to intensify efforts towards tackling violent crimes and ensuring that all pending murder cases across the country are diligently investigated and justice served accordingly.
It maintained that the protection of lives and property remained a fundamental responsibility that must not be compromised.
The IHRC Relief Fund Trust further extended its condolences to the family of the deceased, the Government and people of Niger State, as well as the Deputy Governor of the state, over the tragic loss.
The organisation prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for God to grant his family, friends and associates the strength to bear the loss.
