BREAKING: Court affirms 2025 PDP elective convention, endorses Turaki-led NWC

Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has confirmed the validity of the 2025 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Elective Convention, which elected Dr. Kabiru Turaki as the party’s substantive chairman.
In delivering judgment in Suit No. I/1336/2025 on Friday, the court upheld the amended originating summons filed by Musibau Adetunmbi (SAN) on behalf of claimant Folahan Malomo Adelabi.
Justice Akintola granted all 13 reliefs requested, ruling that the convention adhered to the provisions of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution, the Electoral Act 2022 (as amended), and other relevant electoral laws.
The court also dismissed motions seeking a stay of proceedings and suspension of the ruling, filed by Sunday Ibrahim (SAN) on behalf of Austin Nwachukwu and others.
Earlier, the judge rejected their application for joinder, citing insufficient evidence. (TRIBUNE)
