F G Announces Nationwide Education Sponsorship Screening for Children of Fallen Security Personnel

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Nigerian Army, has announced the schedule for its nationwide education sponsorship screening for children of security personnel who lost their lives in active service. This initiative aims to provide welfare and educational support for affected families.
The program is designed to facilitate access to quality education at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels for the children of officers and soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. It underscores the government’s commitment to supporting families of fallen heroes and ensuring that no child is denied educational opportunities.
Screening Schedule by Geopolitical Zone
The verification and screening process will take place across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from late February to March 2026:
– South-South Zone — February 23–26, 2026
Venue: Headquarters 6 Division, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
– South-East Zone — February 28 – March 3, 2026
Venue: Headquarters 82 Division, Enugu, Enugu State.
– South-West Zone — March 5–8, 2026
Venue: Headquarters 82 Division, Ibadan, Oyo State.
– North-East Zone — March 11–14, 2026
Venue: Headquarters, Nigerian Army Armour Corps, Bauchi, Bauchi State.
– North-West Zone — March 16–20, 2026
Venue: Headquarters 1 Division, Kaduna, Kaduna State.
– North-Central & FCT — March 23–27, 2026
Venue: Army Headquarters Command Officers’ Mess, Asokoro, Abuja.
Applicants are required to bring a comprehensive set of documents, including a handwritten application letter listing the children’s names, admission letters (including JAMB admission letters where applicable), recent academic records, birth certificates, Part II orders, death certificates, Part II order of the deceased personnel, bank details, BVN, and contact information.
This sponsorship scheme is part of broad welfare measures to alleviate hardships faced by the families of fallen security officers. Access to education offers stability and opportunities for the next generation, enabling beneficiaries to pursue academic goals without financial constraints.
