Imams in Bosso LGA Receive one Day Training on Responsible Da’awah
In an effort to promote harmonious coexistence and ensure accurate interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, the Council of Imams and Ulama’u Bosso in Niger State’s local government area organized a one-day Da’awah and sensitization program for Imams of Jumaat Mosques.
During the event held in Maikunkele, Abubakar Mohammad Rabiu Beji, Chairman of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, urged clerics to preach in accordance with the Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
He emphasized that continuous pursuit of religious knowledge is essential and encouraged Muslims to actively participate in politics to foster the dividends of democracy for their communities.
Represented by Dr. Hassan Tatabu of the National Examination Council (NECO), Sheik Husaini Idris stressed that Islam is a light and underscored the importance of preaching only when knowledgeable to prevent misleading followers.
Speaking briefly in an interview, Sheik Shehu Umar, Chairman of the Council of Imams and Ulama’u Bosso and Chief Imam of Maikunkele Central Mosque, explained that the purpose of the one-day sensitization was to enhance Imams’ knowledge in delivering sermons, especially during Fridays.
He urged participants to utilize the training effectively to achieve the program’s objectives.
The theme of the program was “Sustainable Peaceful Da’awah for Harmonious Coexistence.” The event featured the presentation of certificates to participants and special prayers for the local government area and the broader state.
