Rivers Political Leaders Confirm Independent Support for Tinubu in 2027
The Rivers State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, under the leadership of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, has affirmed that political leaders in the state are capable of rallying support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election without relying on governors.
Wike made this statement on Saturday during the inauguration of the organization’s Port Harcourt office.
The minister emphasized that the group is fully committed to supporting President Tinubu and has the political strength to operate independently of sitting governors.
“We are working for President Tinubu. We do not need a governor to mobilize us. We have what it takes to operate independently,” Wike stated.
He highlighted the involvement of influential political figures across party lines, including senators, members of the National and State Assemblies, local government chairmen, and party leaders from both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“We have senators, Assembly members, local government chairmen, National Assembly members, and party chairmen of both APC and PDP,” he added.
Wike underlined that their mobilization efforts are driven by personal conviction rather than external influence, asserting that genuine political support must be voluntary.
“We have mobilized ourselves to demonstrate our commitment because true support doesn’t need to be brought by someone; you have to make the commitment yourself,” he explained.
He concluded by noting that the unity shown at the event reflects the voluntary support of Rivers State’s political leaders for President Tinubu
