Police Officer Allegedly Supplying Firearm to Armed Robbers in Nasarawa
A Nigerian police sergeant has been detained on suspicion of providing an AK-47 rifle used in an armed robbery in Doma Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
The arrest follows the detention of a suspect linked to the incident. During interrogation, the suspect, Gbata, reportedly admitted that the weapon was supplied by a serving police officer stationed at Daudu Division in Benue State.
The officer, now in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Benue, remains under investigation.
Authorities are actively pursuing additional gang members and working to recover the stolen motorcycle.
The case is still under investigation.
