Dangote Refinery reduces its ex-depot petrol price amid increasing competition in the fuel market.

According to data released by Petroleumpriceng on Friday, the refinery lowered its ex-depot rate to N699 per litre from N828.
This N129 reduction adds to the series of adjustments made this year and occurs just prior to the festive season.
The latest price adjustment coincides with similar reductions by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited and several independent marketers across Abuja.
NNPCL stations in the capital now sell petrol at N915 per litre, a slight decrease from the previous N920.
BOVAS and MRS have set their rates at approximately N910 per litre, down from as high as N945.
Other stations, including AYM Shafa, NIPCO, Optima, Mobil, Ranoil, and Empire, are now selling petrol between N920 and N937 per litre, depending on depot supply and location.
These retail price reductions follow previous declines in ex-depot prices at major depots and refineries.
Prior to the latest adjustment, petrol was sold at N824.50 at the Dangote Refinery, N823 at Eterna and Aiteo depots, and N822 at BOVAS.
Despite these reductions, many motorists in Abuja continue to avoid petrol sourced from the refinery at some outlets, as the pump price remains higher than that of competitors.
