President Tinubu Postpones International Trips Due to Security Concerns in Kebbi and Kwara

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delayed his planned visits to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, amid ongoing security threats related to the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and an attack on worshippers at Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State.
A statement from the presidency indicates that, at the request of the Kwara State governor, additional security forces have been dispatched to Eruku and the entire Ekiti Local Government Area. Authorities have been directed to apprehend those responsible for the assault.
Initially, President Tinubu was scheduled to depart Abuja today for the 20th G20 Summit in South Africa and then proceed to Luanda for the 7th AU-EU Summit. However, due to recent security incidents in Kebbi and Kwara, he has decided to postpone his travel plans.
He is presently awaiting intelligence reports from Vice President Kashim Shettima, who visited Kebbi to offer condolences, as well as updates from the police and the Department of State Services regarding the incident in Kwara.
President Tinubu reiterated his commitment to national security, instructing agencies to do all they can to rescue the 24 kidnapped schoolgirls and ensure their safe return.
