NSCDC Arrests Car Snatching Suspect in Niger State.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, has arrested a suspect named Ibrahim Sule in connection with a car snatching incident along Tegina Road in Rafi Local Government Area.
Suberu Syaka Aniviye, the State Commandant, shared details of the arrest during a press briefing in Minna. He noted that three individuals were involved in the crime, while two other suspects remain at large and are currently being pursued by authorities.
The incident was reported to the NSCDC by the Tegina Division on September 6, 2025, prompting a swift response from the security agency.
Commandant Aniviye confirmed that the stolen vehicle, a Honda Crosstour V6 4WD, has been successfully recovered. The investigation revealed that one of the suspects, Azi Muazu, allegedly drugged the vehicle’s owner to gain control of the car.
Aniviye assured the public of the NSCDC’s commitment to safety, stating that the agency would work diligently to apprehend the remaining suspects and ensure they are brought to justice.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration with other security agencies to maintain a crime-free environment under his leadership.
In an interview, the arrested suspect, Ibrahim Sule, claimed he boarded the vehicle as a passenger traveling from Lagos to Jos.
He stated that he was unaware of the drugging of the vehicle’s owner, alleging that the two suspects at large asked him to drive the car once the victim fell asleep. The investigation is ongoing.
