Vigilante Attacked in Minna, Calls for Enhanced Security Measures.

In a troubling incident that underscores growing security concerns, Abubakar Aliyu Dagbakota, a local vigilante in the Nikangbe area of Chanchaga, Niger State, was violently attacked by three unidentified assailants in the early hours of Sunday.
Dagbakota reported that the attack took place between 1:00 and 2:00 AM when the youths, armed with knives, cutlasses, and sticks, forcibly entered his home after breaking through the gate.He sustained significant injuries to his head, hands, thighs, and abdomen during the assault.
After the incident, Dagbakota was promptly taken to the Kpakungu Healthcare Service Center for treatment and has since been discharged.
He revealed that the assailants issued threats to return for further violence.
In light of this attack, Dagbakota has called on Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago and local law enforcement to take decisive action against the rise of gang-related violence affecting innocent residents.
Local resident Abdulhamid Abdul-ganiyu expressed concerns about the safety of the community, warning that continued inaction could lead to vigilantism as residents take matters into their own hands against criminals in the area.
