Residents Killed as Kidnappers Strike in Abuja Due to Delayed N1m Ransom Payment

From Our Correspondent.

Suspected kidnappers have reportedly killed two abducted individuals in Gwargwada, located in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following delays in ransom payment by their relatives.

According to Our sources, the victims, Mohammed Danladi and Nasiru Yusuf, both natives of Gwargwada village, were abducted alongside a herder and a woman at Gwombe junction along the Gwargwada-Rubochi road last Wednesday.

A family member of the deceased, Shuaibu Abdullahi, informed Our Source that the kidnappers demanded N1 million (N1,000,000) for the release of the two victims. However, the families were only able to gather N250,000.

He stated, “The kidnappers’ leader called on Friday, and the family members informed them that they could only raise N250,000, unaware that they had already killed two of the victims due to the delay in the ransom payment.”

The kidnappers later released the herder and the woman after collecting a total of N3 million ransom at their hideout in Koton Karfe forest in Kogi State.

The traditional ruler of Gwargwada, Ugbada Hussaini Agabi Mam, confirmed the incident, stating that the two young men were returning from Rubochi when they were abducted.

He lamented, “Unfortunately, the two young men were killed by their abductors simply because of the delay in ransom payment. Their bodies have yet to be recovered since the victims were taken to Koton Karfe forest in Kogi State.

I learned that the chairman of Koton Karfe has mobilized hunters and vigilantes to search the forest, but they have yet to locate the two bodies.”

There has been no immediate response from the FCT Police Command regarding the incident.
