The Niger State House of Assembly has expressed its desire to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to establish the Niger State Sports Commission.
In a public hearing regarding a private member bill aimed at providing a legal framework for the creation of the Niger State Sports Commission, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji made this announcement.
He was represented by Hon. Arc. Abubakar Suleiman during the event.
The Speaker commended the Chairman and members of the House Standing Committee on Sports Development for organizing the public hearing. He urged stakeholders to contribute their ideas and collaborate on the bill to ensure its success.
Hon. Zakari Ndagi Kinbokun, Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Sports Development, emphasized that it is the responsibility of stakeholders to provide the Committee with their input to facilitate the bill’s passage.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Yahaya Gulbin Boka, stated that the bill is timely and essential for the advancement of sports in the state, highlighting that sports serve as a unifying force for peaceful development.
