Implementation of #80, 000 minimum wage by November is sacrosanct.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Niger State Chapter has disclosed that the payment of a new minimum wage of N80,000 to workers across the board by the Niger State government at the end of November 2024 is sacrosanct.
The Chairman, NLC, Niger State Chapter, Comrade Abdulkareem Idris Lafene, gave a hint while speaking to a NIGERIA DAILY POST correspondent on a telephone interview in Minna Saturday,16th November 2024.
Comrade Idris Lafene highlighted that the NLC is working round the clock to ensure that the government commences implementation of the new wage by November 2024, as earlier promised by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
The NLC boss commended the Niger State government team for their unwavering efforts toward the successful signing of the new minimum wage agreement between the NLC and the state government.
Comrade Idris Lafene also disclosed that the government has promised to pay 10% of the consequential adjustment of the new minimum wage by January 2025.
He stressed that so far, labor has finalized every necessary modalities for the effective taking off of the new minimum wage by November, assuring, however, that the new salary table would soon be made available to the public.
Comrade Abdulkareem Lafene added”.
I want to use this opportunity to applaud farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago for his magnanimity toward the welfare of the citizens, especially civil servants, pointing out that the labor would leave no stone unturned to support the state government in its drive to transform the entire state to the next level developmentally.
He urged the workers to redouble their efforts towards the realization of the new Niger dream of Farmer Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago.
