Alhaji Saidu Mohammed Etsu Turbaned as the 27th Traditional Leader of Etsu-Tasha.
The Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar (rtd) CFR and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, has turbaned Alhaji Saidu Mohammed Etsu as the new Tasha of Etsu-Tasha making him the 27th traditional ruler of the community in order of ascension.
The event was held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Wadata Palace in Bida, Niger State, and was well attended by eminent members of the Etsu Nupe’s cabinet and community leaders.
The Etsu Nupe, Dr Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar tasked the 27th Tasha, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed Etsu to brings his wealth of experience spanning over three decades in civil and community service to his new role.
He was as a project manager at the Niger State Ministry of Health were he served until his retirement from service in 2002. The new Tasha also chaired the Niger State task force on water and environmental sanitation during the administration late Governor Musa Inuwa in shortlived third republic.
Tasha Alhaji Saidu Mohammed Etsu is a graduate of the University of Ilorin where he obtained his bachelors degree. Prior to that, he had attended the school of Hygiene in Kano.
The new traditional title holder is an alumnus of the famous Bida Teachers College (BTC).
Describing his ascension to leadership as the will of Allah, Alhaji Mohammed Saidu Etsu expressed gratitude to the almighty for making the event a success.
He also lauded the effort and support received from the entire people of Etsu-Tasha community and commended for ensuring that the event was successful.
