Plateau North deserves fairness , not imposition of candidates, stakeholders, youth cry out to NWC

The Coordinator of the youths and stakeholders across Plateau North ,Hon Samchris Mafuyai has expressed deep concern over the manner in which the APC senatorial primary process was handled, particularly in wards where elections were reportedly not conducted, yet results were announced.
Over the weekend, youth groups invited Hon. Samchris Mafuyai to Barkin Ladi, Riyom, and Bassa LGAs to address growing concerns surrounding the process.
Speaking to the youths, Hon. Samchris Mafuyai stated that the process was flawed from the beginning.
According to him, when voting commenced at the ward level, Barr. Gyang Zi was reportedly leading in several areas.
However, a social media report suddenly emerged claiming that APC had disqualified Gyang Zi. Shortly afterward, the electoral process was halted.
Later in the evening, another report surfaced stating that Gyang Zi had not been disqualified after all.
“What kind of injustice is this?” Mafuyai asked.
Barr. Gyang Zi is a long-standing member of the APC, a respected legal practitioner, and one of the youngest Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) from Plateau State.
He has never held a political office or been associated with public fund mismanagement. Many expected the party to either allow a transparent democratic process or seek a genuine consensus among stakeholders.
Instead, the announcement of Hon. Mwadkwon as the APC senatorial candidate has left many party faithful questioning the credibility of the process.
If elections had been properly conducted across all wards, many believe the outcome would have reflected the true will of APC members in Plateau North.
The people of Plateau North reject the imposition of leaders. A senator should emerge through a transparent, credible, and democratic process, not through arrangements that leave party members feeling ignored and disenfranchised.
We call on the APC Chairman and party leadership to ensure that no individual is allowed to damage the popularity, unity, and credibility of the APC in Plateau North.
Democracy must prevail. Justice must be done. The voices of APC members in Plateau North must be respected.
