Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bida, Gbako, and Katcha Federal Constituency have officially endorsed Saidu Musa Abdullahi as their consensus candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
This endorsement was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Minna, led by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
The governor also urged stakeholders to support the incumbent member for another term, after which the seat would rotate to Gbako and Katcha, respectively.
Governor Bago emphasized that a second term for Musa Abdullahi would improve the delivery of democracy dividends to the constituency.
He assured those who stepped down in support of the incumbent that their decision would be appreciated and beneficial.
Discussions are ongoing to identify additional consensus candidates ahead of the party primaries scheduled to begin on May 16, 2026. Among those who previously aspired for the seat and agreed to step down are Isah Yahaya, Abubakar Baba Chegungi, Mohammed Yakubu Esheti, and Abdulsalam Madaki.
Some aspirants told journalists that their decisions were motivated by respect for the governor and other stakeholders, as well as a desire to promote peace. They committed to fully supporting the incumbent in the upcoming elections.
