Niger State Government Signs Multi-Billion Naira MOU with Nigerian Army Properties Ltd.
The Niger State government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nigerian Army Properties Ltd. for the construction of a market in Suleja, the headquarters of Suleja Local Government Area, valued at N12 billion.
The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, and the Principal Private Secretary to the governor, Emmanuel Umar, signed on behalf of the State government, while the Vice Chairman of NAPL, Lt. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun (rtd), the Group Managing Director, Brig. Gen. Isah Doma, and the Company Secretary, Barrister Ahmad Belel Ismaila, signed on behalf of NAPL.
Niger State governor, Alhaji Mohammed Umaru Bago, called the agreement a milestone in the state’s history. He said the market is expected to be the largest in the entire Northern Region.
Farmer Bago also shared that once finished, the market will generate an economy valued between N500 million and N1 trillion and will support Abuja’s economy, as Suleja has long been a key hub for commerce supporting Abuja.
The governor explained that partnering with NAPL aims to capitalize on the market’s economic significance, thereby boosting the state’s socio-economic status.
In his remarks, NAPL’s Group Managing Director, Brig. Gen. Isah Doma, described the agreement as a rare privilege for NAPL to partner with Niger State and contribute to the governor’s development efforts.
Brig. Gen. Doma expressed excitement about being part of Niger State’s growth and assured that the project will be completed, emphasizing that NAPL will take the opportunity seriously.
