NACCIMA Praises Nigeria-UAE CEPA as a Key Step in Economic Progress
The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the successful signing of the Nigeria-United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
NACCIMA sees this agreement as a crucial milestone in Nigeria’s economic development plans.
“The Nigeria-UAE CEPA directly supports the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda by promoting trade growth, encouraging investment, boosting industrial activity, and fostering private-sector-led productivity, in line with Nigeria’s aim of reaching a $1 trillion economy by 2030.
The agreement seeks to expand market access for Nigerian goods and services, increase investor confidence, and create a stable framework for more capital inflows, value chain integration, and enterprise growth in vital sectors such as manufacturing, agribusiness, services, infrastructure, finance, logistics, and the digital economy.
NACCIMA highlights that collaboration with the private sector remains essential for sustainable growth.
“The CEPA offers a robust platform for stronger cooperation between Nigerian businesses, UAE investors, and government agencies to increase production, enhance exports, generate jobs, and strengthen competitiveness.
Additionally, the agreement boosts Nigeria’s strategic position as an investment hub and a gateway to the ECOWAS region and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), unlocking wider regional and global market opportunities.
While commending the Federal Government and the Nigerian people, NACCIMA also appreciates the efforts of all relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
The association pledges to work closely with the government to ensure smooth implementation of the CEPA through private-sector involvement, export readiness programs, investment facilitation, trade missions, and policy discussions.
“Anchored in strong leadership and private-sector collaboration, the Nigeria-UAE CEPA establishes a solid foundation for inclusive growth, economic resilience, and long-term prosperity,” the statement concluded.
