Permanent Secretary Ministry for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs Leads Official Visit to VIO and ICT Agency

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Legbo, led the Ministry’s management team on official visits to two key agencies under its oversight: the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Agency. These visits are part of an ongoing initiative to reinforce oversight, foster institutional collaboration, and enhance service delivery across government agencies.
At the Vehicle Inspection Office, Mallam Legbo, accompanied by senior officials, was received by Dr. Bako Muhammed, Sector Commander of VIO. The team examined facilities and received updates on the agency’s achievements and challenges. Mallam Legbo emphasized that professionalism and efficiency are essential in every aspect of service delivery, affirming the Ministry’s support to ensure accountability and improved public outcomes.
Dr. Muhammed described the visit as “timely and encouraging,” highlighting the agency’s contributions to road safety, vehicle compliance, and identifying areas where increased government support could bolster performance.
The Ministry subsequently visited the ICT Agency, where Mr. Abubakar Sadiq, the Agency’s Permanent Secretary, provided an overview of its mandate, accomplishments, and operational hurdles.
The ICT Agency plays a vital role in advancing digital governance, improving service delivery, and promoting technological innovation across Niger State ministries, departments, and agencies.
Mallam Legbo praised the ICT Agency’s management and staff, stating: “Efficiency, professionalism, and ongoing capacity building are crucial to meeting the evolving demands of technology.”
These visits involved facility inspections, productive discussions, and strategic planning to enhance inter-agency cooperation, upgrade infrastructure, and align with the state’s developmental goals.
The engagements reaffirm the Ministry’s dedication to effective governance, diligent oversight, and robust support for its affiliated institutions.
