RT.Hon.Manko Chairman Bida LG Temporarily Closes Dhiyafa Hotel Over Allegations of Misconduct.
The Newly inaugurated Chairman of Bida Local Government has ordered the temporary closure of Dhiyafa Hotel following serious allegations of misconduct.
Rt. Hon. Usman Manko, the Executive Chairman, cited concerns over the misuse of the government-owned facility and inappropriate behavior taking place within the premises.
According to reports, the hotel has been used as a short-term residence where some individuals allegedly engaged in misconduct towards women and girls, including sexual misconduct.
Chairman Rt. Hon. Manko stated that he personally investigated these claims after receiving multiple complaints during his campaign.
In a radio interview, he emphasized that the closure was primarily due to the alleged abuse and the threat it posed to the safety of women and girls in the community.
Upon his inauguration as the Executive Chairman at the Government House in Minna, Hon Manko prioritized the issue and decided to close the hotel as his first action to protect public welfare.
The hotel, situated in Bida and owned by the local government, is currently under review by authorities, who are determining the appropriate subsequent steps.
