Niger State Governor Umaru Bago Attends Funeral of Ambassador Muhammad Haruna Manta

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago participated in the Islamic funeral prayers for the late Ambassador Muhammad Haruna Manta at the Central Mosque in Minna. The service was led by Minna’s Chief Imam, Mal. Isah Jibril.
Ambassador Manta, a highly respected figure and close associate of Senator Mohammed Sani Musa representing Niger East, was honored alongside traditional and political leaders.
Attendees included Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba; Senators Muhammad Sani Musa; Emirs of Minna and Kagara; former Deputy Governor Amb. Musa Ibeto; Secretary to the State Government Abubakar Usman; and other traditional titleholders.
The remains were laid to rest at Ungwan Daji Muslim Cemetery, with prayers led by the Chief Imam. Afterwards, Governor Bago visited the family’s residence on Okada Road to extend condolences.
In his statement, Governor Bago described the late ambassador as humble, peaceful, dedicated, and hardworking. He acknowledged his significant contributions to nation-building and expressed his hope that the family and Senator Sani Musa would find comfort in his pious life, accepting his passing as God’s will.
Ambassador Muhammad Haruna Manta served Nigeria as High Commissioner to South Africa, Lesotho, and Eswatini. His career also included roles as a federal civil servant with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representing Nigeria in Ghana, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and Sudan.
He rose to the rank of Director and participated in various federal delegations throughout his service.
