TUC Congratulates Comrades Lafene and Akayago on Their Conferral of Traditional Titles.
The State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Niger State, Arch Ibrahim Gana, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Comrade Idrees Abdulkarim Lafene, Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in Niger State and President of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), as well as Comrade Adamu Mohammed Akayago, State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT). This recognition comes following their recent conferral of traditional titles by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Minna, Dr. Umar Faruk Bahago.
In a statement issued on behalf of the entire TUC membership, which includes civil servants and veteran union members, Arch Gana praised Comrades Lafene and Akayago for their exemplary dedication and hard work in advancing organized labor.
The titles bestowed upon them—Kwarmazan Minna for Lafene and Jagaban Malaman Makaranta Minna for Akayago—acknowledge their significant contributions to their respective unions and their commitment to the growth and development of the organized labor movement.
Arch Gana noted that these honors are well-deserved, reflecting both leaders’ tireless efforts in promoting the interests of their members and enhancing the labor struggle in the state.
He expressed optimism that the conferral of these titles would further inspire Lafene and Akayago to deepen their commitment to serving not only the Minna Emirate but the entire state.
The TUC Chairman encouraged the newly honored leaders to continue their proactive and dedicated work on behalf of their members, emphasizing the importance of nurturing the labor community and serving humanity.
He also expressed gratitude to the Emir of Minna Dr Umaru Faruq Bahago for the recognition given to the NLC Chairman and the NUT State Chairman, and he prayed for their continued health and success in their noble endeavors.
