F.G.LAUDS NIGER FOR ITS GIANT STRIDES IN TRANSFORMING STATE NIGIS.
The Federal Government has applauded the Niger State Government on the giant stride in the improvement of infrastructure at the state Geographic Information Systems(NIGIS), Agency.
Director of Land’s, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Department,Abuja,
Mr Collins Alabi, made the commendation when he visited the Niger State Ministry of Land’s and Survey to inspect the ongoing upgrade of equipments at the NIGIS,on Tuesday,30th September,2025.
Mr Collins stressed that he was impressed with the ongoing infrastructure development at the Ministry,and urged other state governments in the North to emulate what Niger has done far.
According to the Director”.You have started this project for quite some times and every opportunity you had,you upskill,and that,we have been able to see”.He said.
He added”.Our purpose of coming to the state is to see how we can collaborate, however,we have come and we have seen, saying that,we have good news to report”.
Mr.Collins who led the visiting team had earlier expressed delight with the management and staff of the Ministry for their unweavering commitment to work, promising of continue synergy between his ministry and Niger State Government.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Land’s and Survey,Dr Abdull Hussaini explained that the Director’s visit was a follow-up to a workshop on Nigeria Land Tittle Registration and Documentation Programme which took place in Lagos, pointing out a committee was set up to follow up so as to encourage state governments to improve on their revenue generation.
Dr Hussaini further noted that the team was also in the state to interact with the management of the Ministry and know where we are,so that we can bring up our need assessment towards the land registration.
He hinted that governor Umaru Bago had recently awarded contract for the upgrade of equipments at NIGIS.
Dr.Hussaini used the opportunity to advised land owners to seek for approval from the government on the title of their property so as to increase the value of the property.
The team were conducted round to various sections of the Ministry by Permanent Secretary,which includes: Revenue, NIGIS DES Office,Urban Affairs/Geoinformation Unit, Printing Office,Land Unit, Document Management/Revenue Assessment among others.
