Impostor Arrested for Fraud in Kontagora Market.

Niger State Police Command arrested 28-year-old Bashir Abubakar from Kebbi State for fraud and theft by trickery in New-Market, Kontagora.
According to a press release from SP Wasiu A. Abiodun, the Public Relations Officer for the Niger State Command, Abubakar visited a local shop and requested a handset and accessories valued at over five hundred thousand naira.
Abubakar failed to pay for the items, leaving behind a bag with the shop attendant under the pretense of returning to settle the bill. Upon inspection of the bag, it contained only papers arranged to mimic naira notes.
Furthermore, police investigations linked Abubakar to a similar incident in August, where he allegedly obtained two mobile phones worth around two hundred forty thousand naira while leaving behind a suspected stolen motorcycle, claiming he would return to pay but subsequently vanished.
As tensions escalated, a mob attempted to confront Abubakar, but police operatives swiftly intervened, rescuing him from the situation.
He has been taken into police custody for further investigation and will face prosecution for his actions. The police urge the public to remain vigilant against such fraudulent activities.
