Farmer Gov. Umaru Bago Inaugurates Panel to investigate Suspended Chairman of Chanchaga LG.

Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has inaugurated a three-member investigative panel to look into allegations of misconduct against the suspended Chairman of Chanchaga Local Government Council.
The panel is headed by Justice Abdullahi Mikhail, a high court judge, with Barrister Bala Marika and Alhaji Abubakar Salisu serving as members. Barrister Ibrahim Mohammed Babangida has been appointed as the Secretary of the investigative panel.
The Farmer Governor emphasized the importance of establishing the panel in accordance with legal provisions. He urged the panel to be diligent, fair, and transparent in uncovering the truth regarding the allegations.
Governor Bago pledged to provide the necessary support for the panel to carry out its duties effectively.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State, Barr. Nasiru Mu’azu, explained that the establishment of the investigative panel by the Farmer Governor is in compliance with Section 31(3) of the Niger State Local Government Law 2001 (as amended).
The terms of reference for the investigative panel include investigating the allegations against the suspended Chairman of Chanchaga Local Government Council, obtaining and examining evidence, and ensuring that any written or oral evidence from witnesses is submitted under oath or declaration, among other duties.
