Etsu Nupe mourns Aunty, Hajiya Gogo-Agaba

Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe, Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers has expressed sadness over the death of Hajiya Aishetu Gogo-Agaba, saying the loss was to his family, the Emirate, Niger and the country in general.
Abubakar noted that the late Hajiya Gogo-Agaba mother of Fokpo Raba Nupe, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman lived an accomplished and fulfilled life.
Gogo-Agaba, who died on Friday at the age of 85, was a paternal grand daughter of Etsu Muhammadu Bello, the 7th Etsu Nupe.
The deceased was the
daughter of the late Alhaji Muhammadu Shafii, the Nakordin Nupe.
Abubakar said this in Bida, shortly after the 3-day fidau prayer for te late Hajiya Gogo-Agaba in Bida on Sunday.
Abubakar also described her as a committed technocrat, patriotic woman and a de-tribalised Nigerian.
“Though God has his reasons for taking her at this point in time, the people of the emirate had enjoyed her motherly advice, which will be greatly missed,” the royal father said.
The Etsu Nupe, however, urged the deceased family to sustain her good legacy, adding that she always put the unity of Bida emirate first, irrespective of ethnic, political and religious divides.
Abubakar also described the late Hajiya Gogo-Agaba as a very humble, pious, dedicated and a committed mother whose death created a very wide vacuum too difficult to fill.
He described the deceased as a Godly woman, who had the interest of her people at heart above any other thing.
The traditional ruler said he was deeply touched when he received the news of the death of their Aunty, adding that to the deceased inculcated moral and other positive values in all of them.
“Late Gogo-Agaba took us as her children. She was always there for us,”the etsu Nupe said.
He prayed to God to reward her soul in eternity and give her family and the emirate the fortitude to bear her loss with ease.
“May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljanatu firdausi,” he prayed.
