Former Tinubu Campaign Coordinator Joins ADC, Sparking Wave of Party Defections in Katsina.

In a significant political shift ahead of the 2027 general elections, Aliyu Saulawa, a former campaign coordinator for President Bola Tinubu, has officially defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The transition was announced during the ADC’s state chapter inauguration in Katsina on Sunday.
Saulawa cited key issues such as escalating insecurity, economic hardship, and unfulfilled governmental promises as primary reasons for his departure from the APC.
His defection comes at a time when numerous members from other political groups, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), are also making the switch to the ADC.
The event, held at the Continental Event Centre, attracted hundreds of attendees, representing all 34 local government areas in the state. Defectors voiced their frustrations over worsening insecurity and increasing poverty, emphasizing that many in the state particularly farmers and traders are suffering without adequate relief from the current administration.
Lawal Batagarawa, representing the National Political Coalition Group, addressed the gathering and highlighted pressing economic concerns, including the declining value of the naira, rising inflation, and the collapse of various businesses.
He urged Nigerians to unite in support of the ADC to facilitate meaningful change.
Katsina ADC Chairman, Usman Musa Wamba, expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections, encouraging young people and voters throughout the state to join their movement.
Wamba assured supporters that the ADC is committed to offering better leadership, fairness, and development efforts for the community.
