New Leadership Takes Helm at Nigerian Union of Journalists Newsline Chapel

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Newsline Chapel has officially inaugurated its new executive members, marking a significant transition in leadership.
The ceremony was held today at the Newsline Newspaper office, with Usman Chiji, Secretary of the NUJ State Council, presiding over the event. Vice Chairman Comrade Uriah Gana was also in attendance to lend support.
During the inauguration, Comrade Abu Nmodu, the Chairman of the NUJ Niger State Council, who was represented by Vice Chairman Uriah Gana, emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among the newly elected officials.
He highlighted that the core mission of unionism is to prioritize the welfare of its members, urging the executive team to be vigilant in addressing the needs of their constituency, especially during challenging times.
Usman Chiji praised the Newsline Chapel for its commitment to the principles of unionism and recognized the seamless transition of leadership.
He encouraged chapel members to support the new executives in their efforts and work collaboratively towards achieving common objectives, while also reinforcing backing for the state council of the Union.
Aisha Suleiman, Managing Director of Newsline Newspaper, represented at the event by Editor-in-Chief Mr. Suleiman Yakubu, extended congratulations to the newly inaugurated leaders.
He reiterated the NUJ’s commitment to supporting member welfare and encouraged the new executives to carry forward the legacy of their predecessors.
The newly elected Chairman of Newsline Chapel, Abubakar Hassan, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the chapel members for entrusting the new executive with the responsibility to lead.
He reaffirmed the team’s openness to feedback and constructive criticism, urging members to refrain from idle gossip and instead focus on collaboration for a successful tenure.
The leadership team now includes Akawu Ibrahim as Secretary, Adamu Isah as Assistant Secretary, Isah Abdullahi as Treasurer, and Bulus Danabwi as Financial Secretary. Together, they are poised to advance the goals and values of the NUJ Newsline Chapel.
