Mokwa Flood: Governor Zulum of Borno State Pays Condolence Visit, Donates N300 Million.

The Borno State government has donated N300 million Naira to victims of the Mokwa flood.
Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum announced the donation during a sympathy visit to the government house in Minna, Niger State. He stated that the donation aims to support the Niger State government’s efforts in addressing the challenges posed by the disaster.
While expressing condolences to the Niger State government and its residents over the devastating impact of the flood, which resulted in loss of life and destruction of property and livelihoods, Prof. Zulum emphasized the need for all subnational governments to work together to mitigate the effects of climate change in society.
He also called on the Federal Government to establish a strong mechanism to address these issues.
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago expressed gratitude to his Borno State counterpart for the visit and donation, describing it as timely and a demonstration of solidarity.
He noted that both states share many commonalities and praised Governor Zulum’s dedication, proactiveness, and compassion, which he believes have kept him engaged in governance.
Governor Bago assured that the donation would be used appropriately, highlighting ongoing advocacy efforts to encourage residents to avoid coastal areas to prevent future occurrences.
