Doko Community Unites in Interfaith Prayer for Peace and Forgiveness.

On Saturday, June 7, 2025, a significant event took place in Doko, Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State, as community members gathered to observe the Sallah festive period through a meaningful interfaith prayer session.
The occasion served as a platform for the residents to seek forgiveness among one another, fostering a spirit of unity and reconciliation.
Islamic scholar Ustaz Muhammad Kudu Tafian and clergyman Mr. Theophilus Audu emphasized the importance of sincere forgiveness in attracting God’s favor and mercy.
They highlighted that honest
prayers are vital in seeking divine intervention for peace and harmony within the community.
Col. Jiya Mahmud Liman (Rtd), president of the Doko Progressive Forum, expressed the belief that interfaith prayers hold the power to heal societal wounds and promote lasting relationships among people of diverse faiths.
The gathering also acknowledged the efforts of Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State and the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, for their unwavering commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence across the KinNupe region.
In addition to prayers for peace, the community came together in solidarity to empathize with the residents of Mokwa, mourning the tragic loss of life and property due to a recent flood incident.
