Former Military President Gen. IBB Condoles with Niger State Government Over Mokwa Flood Disaster.
Former Nigerian Military President Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has expressed his condolences to the people of Mokwa and the entire Niger State following the recent flood disaster in the Mokwa Local Government Area.
Gen. Babangida conveyed his sympathies during a visit from a State Government delegation led by Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba, who came to pay homage during the Salah festivities at his residence in Uphill, Minna.
He described the flooding in Mokwa as unfortunate but suggested that it was ordained by Allah. He urged the residents of the state to continue praying for the souls of those who lost their lives in the disaster.
The former Military ruler praised the administration of Governor Umaru Bago for its developmental efforts and emphasized the need for continued progress, assuring his ongoing support.
Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba, who led the delegation, stated that the purpose of the visit was to seek Gen. Babangida’s blessings and fatherly advice.
He acknowledged that the General is deeply concerned about the recent events in Mokwa and expressed gratitude for his enduring role as a guiding figure.
Comrade Garba affirmed that the people of Niger State and Nigeria at large appreciate Gen. Babangida’s dedicated service to the country, assuring him that the State Government will not let him down as he remains a pillar of hope for the nation.
