CP Niger Hosts Chairman State Electoral Commission to Strengthens Electoral Security.

The Commissioner of Police for Niger State, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, MNIPS, hosted a meeting with the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission, chaired by Engr. Mohammed Jubril Imam, at the State Police Headquarters in Dutsen-Kura, Minna.
The Chairman outlined the purpose of their visit, which was to familiarize the CP with the Commission’s mandate and to seek collaboration in facilitating a free, fair, and peaceful local government election process across more than five hundred polling units in the state.
According to SP W. A. Abiodun, PPRO Niger State Command, in a press statement provided to newsmen in Minna, the Chairman emphasized the importance of their partnership as the elections approach, with voting scheduled for November 1, 2025.
He noted that the deadline for unveiling the list of candidates is May 26, followed by a campaign period from May 27 to October 31, 2025.
In response, CP Elleman assured the Chairman of the Police’s unwavering commitment to supporting a peaceful electoral process.
He acknowledged the role of the Police as the lead agency in both internal and election security. The Commissioner emphasized their preparedness to collaborate with other security agencies in the state to ensure comprehensive security coverage throughout the election period.
CP Elleman reiterated the Police’s non-partisan stance and their dedication to creating a conducive environment for a successful electoral process, promising the Commission their readiness to assist in the tasks ahead.
