Anglican Bishop Commends Governor Bago for Religious Tolerance in the State; Offers Support and Prayers.

The Anglican Bishop of Bida Diocese in Niger State, Jonah Kolo, has commended Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago for promoting religious tolerance among the two major faiths in the state.
The Bishop expressed his appreciation during a visit from a government delegation that came to offer condolences over the passing of his mother, the late Elizabeth Aishatu Kolo.
The Bishop stated that Governor Bago, in line with his campaign promises, has demonstrated commendable leadership by ensuring fairness, justice, and equity for both religions in the state. He noted that since assuming office, the governor has fostered peace and religious harmony.
“Governor Bago has shown that he is a leader for everyone in the state, regardless of tribe, religion, or political affiliation. He has included all segments of society in the governance of the state,” the Bishop remarked.
“He has proven to the Christian community that he is a leader for all, which is what we expect from our leaders. His ability to carry along every faith in the state in line with his campaign promises is highly commendable.”
The Bishop expressed gratitude to the governor for his support during his time of grief and assured him of the Christian community’s continued backing and prayers for his administration’s success. He encouraged the governor to maintain the momentum of his developmental initiatives.
Earlier, the governor’s delegation, led by former Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Hon. Jonathan Vatsa, conveyed condolences to the Bishop on behalf of the government regarding his mother’s death.
In a condolence letter signed by Governor Bago and presented to the Bishop, he described the passing of Elizabeth Aishatu Kolo as a significant loss to the state and the entire Christian community.
He stated, “Mama Elizabeth Aishatu Kolo has left a great void in our hearts; her enthusiasm for life and her service to others was infectious and stands out as a precious gift from God.”
He also highlighted her devotion as a Christian and remarked that “humanity will remember her for the beauty, grace, love, and patience she embodied.”
