NGO Trains Young Women on Legislative Processes in Niger State

Salma Attah Foundation for Women and Girls Support under the Kallabi leadership:
Raising the next generation of women leaders has concluded its 6 months intensive training for 25 young women on legislative processes in Niger state.
The Executive Director, Amrah Aliyu made the disclosure at the closing ceremony of the training program at the state assembly complex in Minna, aims to change the narrative and encouraged more women participation in politics.
Amrah Aliyu who is also the Team Lead, Kallabi leadership fellowship advocated for more women to come into the political space and for civic participation to raise awareness for men to give women a chance to build the nation with them.
She explained that they were able to teach the participants about leadership, communication, public speaking and also going to plenary sessions to learn from the legislators, who are expected to propose bills that would be followed up to see that they are being domesticated in the state
Amrah Aliyu emphasised the importance of the Kallabi leadership fellowship in order to raise the next generation of women leaders, adding that it’s a movement for genda equity among others.
The Niger State House of Assembly Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji represented by the member representing Paikoro constituency Mohammed Nasir who commended the foundation for the foresight and opportunity for women in governance.
He maintained that training have made impacts on their lives and should be put in to use while regretting lack of women participation as a set back for democracy, assuring the assembly support for women increase participation.
