Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, Nominated for Pensioners Friendly Governor Award

Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umar Bago, has been nominated for a special award by the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) for his exceptional efforts in taking care of pensioners in the state.
The NUP, in a letter signed by its General Secretary, Elder Actor Zal, commended Bago for paying accumulated outstanding pension arrears and gratuities, a feat that has earned him recognition nationwide.
The union described Bago as “a blessing to this generation” and “a Pensioners’ Friendly Governor,” citing his commitment to the welfare of senior citizens in Niger State.
The union said Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago will receive the award at the NUP’s 12th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference, scheduled to hold on April 15, 2025, in Kano.
NUP said the event will be attended by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The NUP has requested Bago’s acceptance of the award in writing, accompanied by a copy of his citation, which will be read at the occasion.
The union has also invited Bago to attend the conference, which takes place every four years.
Bago’s nomination for the award is a testament to his administration’s commitment to the welfare of pensioners and senior citizens in Niger State.
