El-Rufai Addresses Criticism of APC Leadership in Response to Bwala.

Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has firmly responded to Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, after Bwala’s critique of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
At a recent national conference in Abuja focused on strengthening democracy, El-Rufai expressed disappointment in the APC’s failure to meet its promises to the Nigerian people, attributing the nation’s challenges to the presence of “illiterates and semi-illiterates” in power.
In response to El-Rufai’s statements, Bwala challenged the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, suggesting that he undermined the administration he played a role in establishing. Bwala questioned whether El-Rufai would have voiced such criticisms if he were part of the Tinubu cabinet.
El-Rufai took to his X handle to clarify his stance, emphasizing that he never sought a position in Tinubu’s administration.
He considered the preoccupation with his potential ministerial appointment as indicative of a lack of integrity.
He reiterated his commitment to holding the APC accountable, stating, “If I were in Tinubu’s government, I would still criticize the tragedy within a party I helped found.”
He underscored his approach of addressing issues privately before taking them public if necessary, highlighting his long-standing record of public service as evidence of his dedication to transparency and accountability.
