House of Reps Donates ₦100M to Victims of Diko Tanker explosion receiving Treatment.

Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has been welcoming dignitaries at the Niger State liaison office in Abuja as they come to express their condolences regarding the tanker explosion at Dikko Junction.
Among the visitors were the leadership and members of the House of Representatives, led by the Speaker of the House, Alhaji Tajudeen Abbas.
The Speaker described the incident as tragic, particularly given that the nation is still recovering from similar occurrences in Jigawa and other locations that happened recently.
While extending his sympathies to the government and people of Niger State, Alhaji Abbas emphasized that the recurring incidents of tanker explosions necessitate that the National Assembly consider new legislation aimed at making Nigeria’s roads safer.
He also noted that the upcoming 2025 budget presents an opportunity to enhance funding for relevant agencies tasked with road safety.
During his visit, the Speaker announced a donation of N100 million to support the victims of the tanker explosion, especially those currently receiving treatment in various hospitals.
Prayers were offered for the souls of those who have passed, for the injured, and for comfort to the families of the victims.
Others who extended their condolences to the Niger State government regarding the Dikko Junction tanker explosion included the Minister for Information and the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, as well as his counterparts in Arts, Culture, and Tourism, as well as representatives from the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council.
Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago expressed his gratitude for the visits and the compassion shown toward the government and people of Niger State.
He assured that the donations would be judiciously utilized to support those affected.
