18 Brigade Commander Urges Troops to Stay Focused and Disciplined
Brig.-Gen. Taiye Ahmed, Commander of the 18 Brigade, has urged troops to remain focused, disciplined, and loyal to recognized authority.
Ahmed made this call while hosting frontline troops from his brigade to a special New Year lunch at the Brigade Tactical Headquarters in Tagina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, on January 1, 2025.
In his opening remarks, Ahmed conveyed the New Year goodwill message from the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. OO Oluyede, to the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army. Oluyede expressed gratitude to the troops for their sacrifices and unwavering commitment to addressing the numerous security challenges facing the country.
The Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmadu Attahiru II, represented by Hakimin Tagina, Alhaji Garba Bako, expressed appreciation for the establishment of the 18 Brigade Tactical Headquarters in Tagina. Bako also praised the troops for their swift and effective responses to security threats within their areas of responsibility.
The troops and dignitaries enjoyed a variety of cuisines and beverages during the occasion, with Brig.-Gen. Ahmed serving the soldiers, aided by other district heads and security agencies in the local government area.
The event included riddles, jokes, and other entertaining activities, concluding with prayers from the chaplains for a successful and prosperous year in 2025.
The gathering was smooth and well-organized, with troops returning to their respective Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) after lunch.
