Niger Government to Construct a New General Hospital in New Bussa

The Niger State Government will build a new General Hospital on a permanent site in New Bussa, following the conversion of the existing facility into a Federal Medical Centre by the Federal Government.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, also known as the Farmer Governor, made this announcement during a monitoring tour in New Bussa, the headquarters of Borgu Local Government Area.
He emphasized that this decision aligns with his administration’s commitment to providing effective and efficient healthcare service delivery to the people.
During his visit to the temporary location of the General Hospital, the Governor noted that the current structure is grossly inadequate.
In addition to healthcare, the Farmer Governor addressed road infrastructure issues, urging Borgu stakeholders to decide on the construction site for a 5 km township road.
He also announced plans to build a new road connecting two nearby communities following a security threat that led to traffic diversion from Wawa to New Bussa.
The Emir of Borgu, Muhammad Sani Haliru Dantoro Kitoro IV, expressed appreciation for the Farmer Governor’s efforts and noted that the people of Borgu Kingdom will continue to hold him in high esteem for the many developmental initiatives he has implemented in the region. He prayed for the success of the Governor’s administration.
Other stakeholders, including Jafaru Mohammed, the Member representing Agwara/Borgu Federal Constituency, and Abdulrahman Gambo Muhammad, the Member representing Borgu State Constituency, praised the Governor’s tour as a significant gesture that brings governance closer to the grassroots.
The Farmer Governor also sought royal blessings at the Emirate Palace in Borgu and visited the Dodo of Wawa, Dr. Mahmud Ahmed Aliyu. During these visits, he reiterated that his administration is committed to addressing the challenges the local communities face.
