Voice of Nigeria’s DG to Lead Dignitaries at 6th Campus Journalism Awards

The 6th Campus Journalism Awards is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Cosmopolitan University Hall in Abuja. The event, “Thriving in the 21st Century Media Landscape,” will celebrate outstanding campus journalists from universities across Nigeria.
Mallam Jibrin Ndace, the Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), will serve as the Special Guest of Honour. At the same time, Azubuike Ishiekwene, Senior Vice Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of LEADERSHIP Newspapers will deliver the keynote address.
Other notable dignitaries expected to attend include Comrade Auwal Ibrahim Musa Rafsanjani, Executive Director of the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC); Mallam Mohammed Abu Ibrahim, Executive Secretary of the National Agricultural Development Fund; Alhaji Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation; and Alhaji Lanre Issa-Onilu, Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
This year’s Campus Journalism Awards received 373 entries across 12 categories, with 36 finalists shortlisted. One campus journalist will be named Campus Journalist of the Year, along with 12 other category winners. A cash prize of N200,000 will be awarded to the winner and the first runner-up in the Investigative Journalist category.
Chief Superintendent of Customs Abdullahi Aliyu Maiwada and keynote speaker Azubuike Ishiekwene will also be honored with the prestigious Honorary Patron Awards.
The event promises to be an exciting celebration of campus journalism in Nigeria.
