Women Empowerment : Niger Govt donates ₦250M to Women Cooperative in Kontagora to Boost Small Scale Businesses.

The Niger State Government has allocated N250 million to women cooperatives in Kontagora Local Government Area as part of an empowerment initiative.
Governor Umaru Bago made this donation during a meeting with representatives from various women cooperatives in Kontagora.
He emphasized that women are essential homekeepers and strong pillars of nation-building.
The funds provided are intended to help women achieve self-reliance and create jobs.
The Governor explained that beneficiaries will be selected from women cooperatives engaged in small-scale businesses, and all cooperatives will be registered for proper documentation.
He also promised to increase funding if the recipients utilize the money wisely.
Additionally, he encouraged women who are not part of any cooperative to organize themselves and form cooperatives to qualify for such support.
Hauwa Mohammed Bako, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Social Investment Programs, praised Governor Umaru Bago’s initiative, describing it as highly impressive.
She noted that his administration has launched various women empowerment projects that are already positively impacting the lives of women across the state.
