Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board Confirms N8.4 Million Initial Deposit for 2025/1446 Hajj Fare
The Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially announced a mandatory initial deposit of N8.4 million for the 2025/1446 Hajj Fare for all intending pilgrims in the state.
This figure aligns with the directive from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which has set the initial deposit amount firmly at N8.4 million.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, confirmed that the state has been allocated 4,503 seats for this pilgrimage, underscoring the importance of prompt action by prospective pilgrims.
Intending pilgrims are strongly encouraged to coordinate with their Area Pilgrims Welfare Officers (APWOs) to arrange for payment in installments.
This flexibility is aimed at alleviating the financial burden commonly associated with the pilgrimage, ultimately facilitating more individuals in fulfilling their religious duties.
Every intending pilgrim must acquire an E-passport before initiating payment registration. This requirement is crucial for streamlining the registration process and eliminating the outdated bank draft system in favor of a modern electronic transaction system.
With this initiative, intending pilgrims will have the capability to make payments conveniently from home or deposit funds directly into the Pilgrims Welfare Board account at their bank.
Each payment must reference the E-passport number, and pilgrims must retain their payment teller as proof, which will be presented to their APWOs.
Additionally, the Board will conduct thorough health assessments for every pilgrim to verify their eligibility, starting from the local government level and continuing through to the state level.
