TRADOC commander inaugurates 2024 Captain to Major practical promotion examination panel

Maj.-Gen. Kevin Aligbe, Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Nigerian Army, has inaugurated the Examination Panel for the 2024 Captain to Major Practical Promotion Examination (CMPPE).
A statement by Sani Uba, Lieutenant Colonel, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army, said the inauguration was held at Owena Cantonment Officers’ Mess, Headquarters of 32 Artillery Brigade in Akure.
Aligbe congratulated the 24-member panel on their nomination, stressing that it was based on their honesty, integrity, and professional competence.
Aligbe, who is also the Examination President, charged the panel to uphold the examination’s standards and values, producing thought-provoking questions that assess candidates’ problem-solving skills, aligning with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy.
Earlier in his welcome address, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen Obinna Onubogu, represented by Brig. -Gen. John Lar, congratulated the panelists on their well-deserved nomination.
Onubogu described the examination as a critical step in career progression for NA officers, urging panelists to display honesty, commitment, and professionalism.
“The examination will equip candidates with requisite knowledge to support the NA in meeting national defence and security objectives,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre, Chief of Training (Army), and Acting Director Examination TRADOC NA, among others.
Prior to the inauguration, panelists underwent a special training session coordinated by Brig. Gen. Godwin Nwamba.
