Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago is among Nigeria’s high-powered delegation to the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), underway in New York, United States of America.
Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shetima is leading the Nigeria’s delegation to the 79th session of UNGA.
UNGA is the main policymaking organ of the UN, comprising all member States, providing a forum for multilateral discussions on International issues covered by the Charter of the United Nations.
The first day of the high-level General Debate is expected to commence on Tuesday, 24th September 2024.
Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago will engage in several activities
at the event, to strengthen global partnerships, share best practices and exchange knowledge.
He will further use the opportunity to showcase achievements recorded and ongoing progress in Niger State to attract investments.
The Farmer Governor is also expected to join his counterparts under the auspices of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), at a side-event tagged, “Accelerating Sustainable Development: Harnessing Technology and Partnerships for SDG3 and SDG11.
The event is to focus on how technology, combined with accountability and strategic partnerships, can empower subnational Governments as accelerators for achieving SDGs 3 and 11.
Other side-events the Farmer Governor is expected to participate in roundtable business meetings, investments summit cutting across many sectors, especially Oil & Gas, Mining, and Agriculture organised by various international organisations.
At the end of the business meetings, MoUs are expected to be signed on Education, Gender, Food Security, and Energy.
