Senator Sani Musa 313 donates foodstuffs and cash to relations of Alawa bandits attack.
The Acting Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has revealed that the military is currently assessing the security situation in Alawa, with plans to reopen a military base in the area.
Comade Yakubu Garba disclosed this at the Government House in Minna while receiving foodstuffs donated by Senator Mohammed Sani Musa,representing Niger East senatorial district for upward distribution to the relatives of those who were killed during the Alawa bandit attack.
He emphasized that the state government is making frantic efforts at reopening of the military base in the area to stabilize and prevent future attacks.
Comrade Yakubu while receiving the food items assured the delegation that the foodstuffs would reach the intended beneficiaries.
He then commended Senator Sani Musa for the gesture.
” I want to appeal to him, to continue to do the good works that he have been doing for us.,and I also want to use this medium to also call others, political office holders, and by extension, philanthropists, to help in their own capacity, in any way, in kind or cash,so we can help those people that have been displaced by this insecurity”.
Earlier in his speech at the symbolic distribution of the foodstuffs and cash the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Baba Sule Bisala, Sarkin Shanu Suleja,who presented the food item to the Acting Governor on behalf of Senator Sani Musa explained that the foodstuffs was not directly handed to the victims in Alawa town due to the prevailing insecurity in the area.
The Hakimin Alawa, Alhaji Ibrahim Salihu, who received the foodstuffs on behalf of Alawa community confirmed the identities of the victims and expressed confidence that the intervention would reach the affected families.
The foodstuffs donated includes maize, vegetable oil, spaghetti rice, Indomine noodle and undisclosed amount of money.
