Nigeria Union of Pensioners applauds Gov.Bago’s timely settlement of Retirees gratuities -Actor Zal
The farmer Governor of Niger state, Mohammed Umar Bago has been commended for the prompt payment of monthly pension and the release of outstanding accumulated gratuity of both state and local government pensioners inherited from the previous administration since 2003.
This was contained in a letter of appreciation addressed to the Governor and signed by the General secretary of the Nigeria Union of pensioners, national headquarters, Elder Actor Zal dated 27/8/2024 and made available to our Correspondent.
The General secretary,Elder Actor Zal, stated that the entire pensioners in the state are overwhelmed and convinced that the Farmer Governor Umar Bago is a listening governor, for him to have heed to their request to clear pensioners gratuity inherited from his predecessor in a letter of appeal to the governor dated 18th/April/2024.
According to him majority of the pensioners have acknowledged receiving their cheques and confirmed their various account have been credited.
He used the opportunity to expressed heartfelt commendation for the farmer Governor Umar Bago’s outstanding concerns towards uplifting the living standard of the retirees who have waited for too long, when many of them have lost hope in getting their legitimate entitlement, while others have since died while waiting for their Hard-earned pension benefits.
“The Union on its usual way would celebrate your commitment at the appropriate time, we are very grateful to Almighty Allah to have Farmer Governor Bago at this time with the daunting economic challenges facing the nation, especially for the Senior citizens who have little or nothing to survive”.
He disclosed that the Governor’s timely intervention has brought succour and great relief to retirees and their families members.
