Coalition of Women Organisation applauded Farmer Gov. Bago’s proactiveness during 10 days Nationwide protest.
Coalition of Women Organizations in Niger State has applauded Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s Proactive Measures at averting casualties during the just concluded 10-Day National Protest.
The state Governor is worthy of commendation due to how the protest ended without incidents in the state despite other states recording various incidents.
In a statement by the Chairperson ,Hajiya Hajara Musa said, “We are impressed with how the State government demonstrated exceptional leadership and proactive measures to ensure peace and stability in the state”.
“When protests occur, it is usually women and children who suffer the most from the violence that comes with it but Niger State stood out for its exemplary handling of the situation. and because the government ensured we were protected it’s worthy of commendation”.
The statement reads in parts,Governor Bago’s appeal for calm and assurance to intending protesters that their voices had been heard and providing some sort of relief made stakeholders heed his appeal.
Hajiya Hajara said the administration of farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bagos engagement with various stakeholders, including traditional leaders, youth groups, and labor unions, to listen to their concerns and address their demands in a town hall meeting.
According to her the state government also worked closely with security agencies to ensure adequate monitoring and protection of lives and property and theTraditional institutions played a significant role in sustaining peace throughout the state, while youth groups demonstrated exceptional leadership and responsibility. Labor unions also successfully maintained calm and peaceful coexistence in the state.
“The peaceful resolution of the protests in Niger State is a testament to the power of cooperation between the government and citizens. Governor Bago’s proactive measures serve as a model for other state governments and the federal government to follow”.
“The Niger State example shows that with leadership, dialogue, and cooperation, peaceful conflict resolution is achievable”.
